Author Guidelines

Siddhayatra: Jurnal Arkeologi Writing Guide



Siddhayatra: Jurnal Arkeologi contains research papers, scientific thoughts, studies on archeology and related sciences supported by accurate reference data. The journal is published twice a year in May and November.

General Instructions

  1. The manuscript has never been published or published in other media
  2. Manuscripts are written in Indonesian or English.
  3. A minimum of 10 pages, and a maximum of 20 pages including tables, illustrations, appendices and bibliography.
  4. The title, abstract and keywords must be written in two languages (Indonesian and English).
  5. Written using MS World on A4 size paper, Times New Roman font size 12, 1.5 spacing. The upper limit, lower border, left edge, and right edge are 3 cm each. A minimum of ten pages and a maximum of twenty pages.
  6. The mention of terms outside Indonesian must be written in italics.

Structure of Scientific Writing


  1. Author's name and address
  2. Abstract
  3. Keywords
  4. Introduction (covering background, problems, objectives, scope, theoretical basis/concept/library review, hypothesis [optional], and research method).
  5. Results and discussion (written explicitly containing data exposure, and analysis. Including illustrations: pictures, tables, graphs, photos, diagrams, and so on).
  6. conclusions
  7. Acknowledgments
  8. Contributions
  9. Bibliography (minimum 10 libraries).
  10. Attachments (optional)
  11. Author bio

Title Writing

  1. The title must reflect the content of the article, be effective, and not too long.
  2. The Indonesian title is typed in the center with bold capital letters using Times New Roman font size 14.
  3. The English title is typed under the Indonesian title with a capital letter at the beginning of each word, in bold, italicized, and centered.
  4. If the title is in English, then the title is rewritten in Indonesian, and vice versa.

Writing Name and Address

  1. The author's name is typed under the title, written in full without mentioning the title, typed in the middle and in bold. The name is typed in Times New Roman font size 10.
  2. If there is more than one author, they are separated by a comma (,) and the word "and".
  3. The author's address is the name and address of the institution where he works. If there is more than one author, they are numbered in a superscript format. If the authors have the same address, it is enough to write only one address.
  4. The e-mail address is written under the author's name.
  5. If there is more than one address, it must be marked with an asterisk (*) and followed by the next address.

Abstract Writing and Keywords

  1. Abstract written in Indonesian (75-250 words) and English (75-200 words).
  2. Abstract is written in one paragraph without references, quotes, and abbreviations. Consists of four aspects, namely: research objectives, methods used, research results, and research conclusions.
  3. If the article uses Indonesian, the abstract in English takes precedence and vice versa.
  4. Keywords are written in Indonesian and English (3-5 words).
  5. Abstract and keywords are typed in Times New Roman font size 10, italicized and bold.


  1. The title is displayed at the top of the table, aligned left (align text left) and source.
  2. Each table is numbered using Arabic numerals (Table 1, Table 2, Table 3,.....).
  3. The font uses Times New Roman with size 8-11.

Illustration Presentation (Images, Graphics, Photos, and Diagrams)

  1. All illustrations are displayed in the center of the page (center).
  2. Description of the illustration is shown below the illustration using the Font  Times New Roman with size 10. Placed in the center (center). Must include the source of the illustration in brackets.
  3. All illustrations in the manuscript are included in the image category and sorted by arabic number (Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, .....).


  1. Acknowledgments are conveyed to the institutions and/or personal who financed and the parties involved in the research process to the writing.
  2. Each author is required to give acknowledgments.


  1. Contributions contain who the main author of the manuscript is. If there is only one author, it can be written that the author is the main contributor.
  2. Each author is required to give Contributions.



  1. The bibliography is written alphabetically and chronologically.
  2. The bibliography contains at least 10 books or journals that are directly related to the writing (the books used).
  3. How to cite and write a bibliography using the chicago style technique.
  4. Used Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote

Author Biodata Writing

  1. Biodata consists of name, place of birth, education, occupation, and expertise.
  2. Each author is required to attach a bio.
  3. The author's name is placed at the top, aligned to the left (align text left), and in bold.
  4. The biodata is typed in Times New Roman font size 12.


  1. Article sent by OJS Authors are required to register first
  2. Confirmation of loading or refusal of articles is notified in OJS or e-mail.
  3. Unpublished articles will not be returned, except at the request of the author.



Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
